Lava Cake

Alajuela is a province of Costa Rica located in the north-central part of the country, bordering Nicaragua to the north. It's natural environment is one of the primary motivators for tourism, being one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots.

This coffee is sourced from Marianella Baez Jost from The Farmers Project and Café con Amor in Naranjo, Alajuela. Marianella & her husband Jon gave up their successful careers and comfortable lifestyle in the United States and purchased a coffee farm in the mountains of Naranjo. With the professional expertise of their coffee engineer, Adrian, and the hard-earned wisdom of their loyal farmworker, Chevo, they immersed themselves in every phase of the experiment through soil analysis, water and shade management, soil nutrition, harvesting, wet processing and dry processing. Marianella is also a member of the Board of Directors of the International Women's Coffee Alliance, and is committed to moving the coffee industry forward.

The resulting cup reminds us of chocolate, caramel and orange.

First coffee of the February 12-days box! This coffee beans are from Pirates of Coffee and I absolutely loved it. A great combination of nutty and citrusy flavours.
