What is a coffee Advent calendar?

A coffee Advent calendar is just like a traditional Advent calendar — but instead of chocolates or toys, you discover a different coffee every day leading up to December 25th.

It's a daily ritual of brewing, tasting, and discovering new coffees throughout the holiday season.

What makes the Th3rdwave Advent unique?

Our Advent features 25 coffees from 25 Canadian artisan roasters — one for every day of December, right up to Christmas morning.

For 2026, you can choose between three different coffee adventures: Canada, Québec and Decaf.

It's a chance to discover incredible roasters, explore new coffees and turn your December mornings into a holiday ritual.

Which Advent should I choose?

Each edition offers its own coffee adventure:

✦ Canada Edition — A selection of standout roasters from across Canada.
✦ Québec Edition — A local adventure featuring roasters from across Québec.
✦ Decaf Edition — 25 decaf coffees for a full Advent experience, without the caffeine.

Can I purchase the Advent calendar as a gift?

Yes! At checkout, simply select the "This is a gift" option.

We'll ship the Advent in a plain outer box so the surprise stays intact, and no invoice or pricing information will be included inside the package.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Do you offer different sizes?

Yes! You can choose between two formats:

✦ Small — 25 × 20g
500g of coffee total. Great for one person or one daily brew.

✦ Large — 25 × 50g
1,250g of coffee total. Perfect for sharing or brewing more coffee each day.

What comes with my Advent?

Your Advent includes 25 individually packed coffees from 25 Canadian roasters.

The Large Advent also includes our Advent Tote.

For Advent 2026, a Limited-Edition Advent Mug is also included with eligible orders while supplies last.

When will my Advent ship?

To give calendars travelling the longest distances more time to arrive, Advent orders are shipped in waves based on destination.

We do our best to have every Advent arrive before December 1st, but delivery dates cannot be guaranteed once your order is in the carrier's network.

If you order after your region's scheduled shipping date, your Advent will be shipped as soon as possible on a first come, first served basis.

What are the shipping fees?

Shipping fees depend on your delivery area and will be clearly shown at checkout before you complete your order.

✦ Hyper-local Montréal delivery → Free
✦ Greater Montréal / nearby areas → A small delivery fee may apply
✦ Other Canadian destinations → Shipping fee varies by destination
✦ Remote & rural areas → Additional shipping fees may apply

Where do you ship?

We ship throughout Canada, as well as to the United States and select international destinations.

Available shipping options and fees will be displayed at checkout based on your delivery address.

Do you ship to the US?

Yes! Advent 2026 can be shipped to the United States.

Shipping fees are calculated at checkout based on your destination.

Please note that US orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes or other fees. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient and are not included in the shipping fee paid to Th3rdwave.

International transit times may also be longer, so we recommend ordering early.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We can ship Advent 2026 to select international destinations.

Available shipping options and rates will be calculated at checkout.

International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes or additional fees, which are the responsibility of the recipient. Delivery times can also vary considerably depending on the destination and customs processing.

What is the quality of the coffee?

✨ Every coffee is specialty-grade and freshly roasted by carefully selected Canadian roasters.

We only work with artisan roasters we know and trust. Every roaster featured in our Advent is selected for the quality of their coffee and their roasting craft.

Our partners source their coffees through trusted importers and producer relationships that value quality, transparency and sustainability.

How do I know if I'll like the coffees?

Discovery is part of the Advent experience!

We curate every lineup to offer an exciting and varied selection of specialty coffees throughout December. You'll discover different origins, varieties, processes, roast styles and tasting profiles along the way.

Instead of choosing one specific taste profile, simply choose the Advent adventure that fits you best: Canada, Québec or Decaf.

COFFEE VARIETY

Do all Advent calendars have the same coffee lineup?

No! Each Advent edition has its own lineup of 25 coffees.

✦ Canada Edition → roasters from across Canada
✦ Québec Edition → roasters from across Québec
✦ Decaf Edition → a dedicated selection of decaffeinated coffees

That means each edition offers a different coffee adventure throughout December.

Are the tasting notes added flavors?

No. Any fruity, chocolatey, nutty, floral or other tasting notes you discover are naturally present in the coffee.

They come from factors such as the coffee variety, origin, processing method and roasting style — no artificial flavors are added.

COFFEE ROASTING

When and who will roast the coffee?

Every coffee is roasted by the featured roaster at their own roastery.

The coffees are roasted fresh close to our packing and shipping period so they can rest properly and be ready to enjoy throughout December.

How is the coffee roasted?

There isn't one single roast profile for the entire Advent.

Each coffee is roasted by its featured roaster to showcase its unique characteristics. Throughout the Advent, you can expect to explore different origins, processes, varieties and roast styles.

That variety is part of the adventure!

BREWING

Which brewing method should I use?

Great coffee can be brewed in many different ways!

Espresso is a great option if you enjoy concentrated coffee or milk-based drinks like lattes and cappuccinos, while filter methods are perfect for exploring the individual characteristics of each coffee.

There's no single right way — brew it the way you enjoy it most.

How much coffee can I brew per day?

It depends on the format you choose and your brewing recipe.

Can I get my coffee ground?

No — the Advent is available in whole bean only.

With 25 different coffees coming from 25 different roasters, offering grinding would add significant complexity to the production process. Keeping the coffees whole bean also helps preserve their freshness until you're ready to brew them.

SUPPORT & POLICIES

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Yes. You can cancel your order and receive a full refund as long as your Advent has not yet shipped.

Once your order has shipped, all sales are final.

Can I return my Advent if I change my mind?

Returns are accepted only before your order has shipped.

Once shipped, we cannot accept returns due to the nature of the product.

What if my Advent arrives damaged or goes missing?

If your Advent is damaged during transit or doesn't arrive, contact us as soon as possible.

We'll investigate the situation with our shipping partners and help find the appropriate solution.
