Tucked in a quiet street, great space to work or just chill. Serves breakfast and lunch, in addition to little pastries and a non-coffee option fridge. Sells various mtl-based items.

***english version below Essayer un nouveau coffeeshop est toujours plaisant surtout lorsqu’il y a une histoire rattachée avec. @cafe_paperhill un nom bien choisis pour un café qui se situe sur une rue dont plusieurs industries de l’imprimerie s’y trouvaient. Un peu d’histoire, « La rue St-Alexandre était autrefois le cœur de l’industrie graphique à Montréal, avec de nombreuses imprimeries regroupées dans ce qu’on appelait « Paper Hill ». Le secteur regroupait autrefois les principaux journaux de la ville, comme le Montreal Star, The Gazette et La Presse. »
L’endroit est petit mais accueillant, quoique un peu bruyant à l’heure du lunch. L’atmosphère doit être différente le soir venue. J’ai bien aimé les petites affiches discrètes sur les tables 😉 et aussi le fait d’avoir gardé et exposer des éléments de l’ancienne place.

Trying a new coffeeshop is always fun, especially when there’s a story behind it. @cafe_paperhill is a well-chosen name for a café located on a street once home to several printing industries. A bit of history: « St-Alexandre Street was once the heart of Montreal’s printing industry, with many printing shops clustered in what was called ‘Paper Hill.’ The area once housed the city’s major newspapers, such as the Montreal Star, The Gazette, and La Presse. »
The place is small but welcoming, although a little noisy at lunchtime. The atmosphere must be different in the evening. I really liked the small, discreet posters on the tables 😉 and also the fact of having kept and exhibited elements of the old place.
