La Esperanza

Valle Del Cauca is a department of Western Colombia that abuts the Pacific Ocean. The region is well known for both its coffee and its sugar. The sugar cane grows in the valleys, while coffee grows in the mountains.

This coffee is sourced from Finca La Esperanza, one of four farms part of the Café Granja La Esperanza Estate in Trujillo, Valle Del Cauca. The owners, Rigoberto and Luis Eduardo Herrera, come from a long-standing coffee producing family. They are third generation coffee producers, with their grandparents starting in coffee in 1945. The Herrera brothers are known for their growing & processing innovations, and their coffees are highly sought after.

This lot is a blend of all varieties found on the farm, and consists of Caturra, Colombia & Mandela. Furthermore, the Mandela variety is an experimental strain developed by Café Granja La Esperanza. It is unique to Finca La Esperanza.
