Hti Ta Maung

Shan State is the largest administrative division by land area in Myanmar, and is bordered by the Yunnan province of China to the north. Shan State is known for its garden produce of all sorts of fresh fruit and vegetables thanks to its temperate and sunny climate.

This coffee is sourced from various Hti Ta Maung village farmers near Pinlaung, Shan State. Though they have been cultivating coffee for quite some time, the folks at Behind The Leaf are responsible for the creation of a micro-mill of the same name at which these farmers are continuously trained to improve their crop yield and quality. On top of that, Behind The Leaf also facilitates community nurturing as most of these farmers have limited road & power grid access. By banding together, they are now able to work towards developping a more sustainable life.

The resulting cup reminds us of juniper, grape and toffee.

A little bit fruity, a touch sour, nothing to write home about but was fine

Couldn't get any of the tasting notes to come out, passable but not great.
