Sacatepéquez is a department of Central Guatemala. It is largely mountainous and hosts a chain of active & dormant volcanoes including Acatenago, Volcan De Agua, and Volcan de Fuego. The volcanic soil and high altitudes make for ideal coffee growing conditions.
This coffee is sourced from Finca Medina, a family-owned estate located in San Lorenzo El Cubo, Sacatepéquez. It was established in 1872, and has a firm commitment to providing a safe and clean work environment for the over 200 employees. They also provide scholarships and funds to purchase school supplies, which extends to college enrolment for employees and their children.
All coffees produced at Finca Medina are Rainforest Alliance and UTZ certified.
