What you’ll need: French Press, Grinder, Water, Coffee, Carafe or Pitcher, Timer, Digital Scale STEP 1 ⇒ 1:14 ratio. ⇒ That’s 1g of coffee for 14ml of water. ⇒ This recipe uses 25g of coffee and 350ml of water. STEP 2 ⇒ Coarse like sea salt. STEP 3: Boil & rinse ⇒ Boil your water & let it cool off for 30 seconds. ⇒ Rinse the French Press to preheat. This will avoid radical temperature changes. STEP 4 ⇒ Place the French press on the scale. ⇒ Tare the scale. ⇒ Add the ground coffee. ⇒ Tare the scale again. STEP 5 ⇒ Cover the coffee with ±1 inch of water. ⇒ Start the timer. ⇒ Wait for 30 seconds. ⇒ Pour the rest of the water. ⇒ Let everything brew for 4 minutes. STEP 6 ⇒ Press the plunger down. ⇒ Pour all the brewed coffee into another vessel. ⇒ If you let the extra brewed coffee sit in the French Press, it will continue to extract and its taste will worse.
