Tanzania Kilimanjaro

Tanzania’s AA coffee is produced in farms set in the foothills of the Mt. Kilimanjaro in Northern Tanzania. Here coffee trees have the benefit from the glacial runoff from the snow-peaked mountain and moderately cooler temperatures compared to other coffee regional coffee producers. The soil is both volcanic and fertile, bringing rich flavour into the cherry harvested. Coffee today generates approximately 5% of the country’s export revenue and employs directly and indirectly 6% of the population of the country’s population. A majority of coffee is produced by smallholder farmers with an estimated 450,000 farmers in the country, producing 90% of the annual output. The remaining coffee is grown and harvested by larger international estates
