Nabor Gallardo is a coffee producer from the localidad of Llano Encino in the Sierra Mazateca of Oaxaca. His farm sits at 1,735 masl. After living in Mexico City, Nabor returned to his village about four years ago to help his family. He has since taken over the farm after his father's passing and has been working to clean up the fields and improve production. He is a rare producer in the Mazateca applying fertilizers. Nabor has been working closely with Finca La Union, a grower's association founded by Alicia and Hipolito Morales, and agronomist German Garcia, to better his post-collection processes and increase quality and volume. This is actually the first year that Nabor's coffee has been separated as a single producer microlot, the result of the work he has put into soil and plant health and improved fermentations.
