The A Lel Chaung village is a rising star in the Shan State specialty coffee scene. Comprised of 160 households, the entire community has rallied behind the Specialty Coffee Production Group to transform their local economy. Through investment in technology—like drying tables and moisture meters—and continuous education, they have moved from low-market prices to producing high-end, complex lots. This coffee is a true engine for change: 10% of all profits are reinvested directly into village healthcare, infrastructure, and education.
