Gemelos
Huehuetenango is a department of Guatemala located in the western highlands and borders the Chiapas state of Mexico to the north. It is the country's most ethnically diverse region with a proud Mayan heritage.
This coffee is sourced from Finca Nueva Armenia, a generational farm located in Huehuetenango. The farm is operated by twins Jorge & Javier Recinos Leonardo. Both are environmental engineering graduates and are dedicated to preserving the farm's land, flora and biodiversity. Reusing the pulp from harvested coffee cherries to make organic fertilizer, planting nitrogen-producing plants around the coffee trees to create soil rich in nutrients, and setting up a nursery for native trees & flowers are just a few of the initiatives the Recinos brothers have brought to the farm.
