Decaffeinated

The Jimma zone in the Oromia region of Ethiopia is one of the top three coffee producing regions in the country. Growing conditions are ideal since coffee crops are protected by the forest and rainforest that cover most of the area.

This coffee is sourced from Ibrahim Hussein, a third generation farmer in the Limmu Kosa district of the Jimma zone. His farm, Burka Gudina, rests on densely forested hills that roll up and down in gentle slopes. This makes it ideal for shade growing his heirloom varietals, as the cool temperatures ensure sweet tasting cherries.

Though this coffee was naturally processed at origin, it has been decaffeinated by Swiss Water in Vancouver. Their process excels at maintaining the unique elements of origin while removing caffeine. The result is a berry-forward acidity, a nice jam-like texture, and a clean tea-like body.
