What is a coffee advent calendar?

A coffee Advent calendar is just like a traditional Advent calendar — but instead of chocolates or toys, it features a curated selection of coffees for each day leading up to December 25th. It's the perfect way to enjoy a daily ritual of brewing, tasting, and discovering new coffees throughout the holiday season.

What makes the Th3rdwave Advent unique?

Unlike most Advent calendars, ours features 25 coffees from 25 different Canadian artisan roasters— one for every day of December, right up to Christmas morning. It's not just about drinking coffee; it's about discovering new roasters, supporting local craft, and turning your mornings into a holiday ritual of surprise and delight.

Can I purchase the Advent calendar as a gift?

Yes! You can send the Advent calendar to anyone living in Canada. At checkout, just select the "This is a gift" option — we'll ship it in a plain box so the surprise stays intact. Don't worry, no invoice or pricing details will be included inside the package.

SHIPPING

When is the advent calendar shipping?

We will ship calendars in three waves, depending on the destination.

First wave

All territories: November 3rd
The Maritimes: November 3rd

Second wave

Manitoba: November 10th
Saskatchewan: November 10th
Alberta: November 10th
British Columbia: November 10th

Third wave

Quebec: November 17th
Ontario: November 17th

Please note that while we do our very best to deliver on time, we cannot guarantee that your order will arrive before December 1st.

If you order after your region's shipping date, your calendar will be sent on a first come, first served basis.

All orders with delivery addresses in Montreal will be delivered by Th3rdwave and our local partners.

What is the shipping cost?

Shipping is free across all major urban areas in Canada. For remote and rural addresses (as defined by Canada Post), a small extra fee of $5–10 may apply. Any additional cost will be shown at checkout before you confirm your order.

Where do you ship?

We mainly ship within Canada.

If you'd like to ship outside of Canada, please contact us and we'll see what we can do. Please note that international orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or longer delivery times, which are the responsibility of the recipient.

Do you ship to the US?

Yes, we can ship to the United States!

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! While we mainly ship within Canada, we can arrange international shipping on a case-by-case basis. Please note that international orders may take longer to arrive and could be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or additional shipping fees, which are the responsibility of the recipient. COFFEE QUALITY

What is the quality of the coffee?

✨ Every coffee is specialty-grade, roasted fresh by Canada's best.

We only select specialty-grade coffees from artisan roasters we know and trust. Every roaster featured in our Advent has been carefully vetted for both the quality of their coffee and their roasting craft.

All of our partner roasters source their beans through direct relationships with producers or from reputable importers who value transparency and sustainability. They care deeply about every batch they roast — and that's exactly why we've chosen them.

How do I know if I will like the coffees?

That's what we do best at Th3rdwave! We run one of the coolest coffee subscriptions in Canada, curating monthly boxes for our members. We choose coffees based on attributes like origin, variety, process, and roasting style — always with the goal of offering unique cups that people will truly enjoy.

For Advent 2025, you can choose between two taste profiles in either edition:

COFFEE VARIETY

Do all calendars have the same coffee line-up?

No — there are 4 different Advent calendar lineups, based on two choices you make:

✦ Chocolaty, Rich & Roasty

PS: These tasting notes are not added flavors — they come naturally from the coffee fruit, process, and roasting style.

Do you offer different sizes?

Yes! You can choose between two formats:

✦ 25 bags × 20g → total of 500g coffee
✦ 25 bags × 50g → total of 1,250g coffee

Choose 20g if it's just for you, 50g if you want to share or brew more than one cup per day.

COFFEE ROASTING

When and who will roast the coffee?

Every coffee in the Advent is roasted by the featured roaster at their own roastery. All coffees are roasted fresh in November — just a few days before shipping — so you can brew them at their peak flavor. We also schedule a second roasting wave in early November to cover new orders, making sure every calendar is packed with freshly roasted coffee.

How is the coffee roasted?

Each Advent follows the same roasting approach, aligned with your chosen taste profile:

✦ Fruity, Funky & Balanced → Light roast
✦ Chocolaty, Rich & Roasty → Medium–dark roast

Both profiles are available in the Quebec Edition and Canada Edition.

BREWING METHOD

Which brewing method should I use?

Great coffee can be brewed any way you like! Espresso is perfect if you enjoy milk drinks (like lattes or cappuccinos), while filter methods are ideal if you want a clean cup of black coffee.

How many coffees can I brew per day?

That depends on the format you choose and the size of your cup!

Can I get my coffee ground?

No — the Advent comes with whole bean coffee only. Unlike our subscription, we don't offer grinding for this product because of the logistics behind sourcing 25 coffees from 25 different roasters in such a short time. Trust us, it's worth it for the freshness!

SUPPORT & POLICIES

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Yes! You can cancel your order for a full refund up until your calendar ships. Once it's shipped, all sales are final.

Can I return the Advent calendar if I change my mind?

Returns are accepted only if your order hasn't shipped yet. After shipping, we don't accept returns because of the nature of the product.

What if my Advent calendar arrives damaged or goes missing?

If your calendar is damaged in transit or doesn't arrive, contact us right away. We'll investigate with our shipping partners and make it right.
