Frank Torres

Nariño is a southwestern department of Colombia bordered by Ecuador and the Pacific Ocean. The volcanic soil from the Andes gives this region a strong agricultural sector. The Andean highlands have ideal coffee growing condition, whereas the Pacific lowlands' main crop is banana.

This coffee is sourced from Frank Torres and his Finca La Indonesia farm in La Union, Nariño. The farm has been known for exceptional coffee production for over 40 years. Frank inherited a part of this farm and is in charge of overseeing all processing and farming practices. He is a Q grader who has been passionate about coffee ever since he was young. He started his coffee career by working for Starbucks' specialty coffee program, as well as a green coffee buyer for exporters and importers. This network of experience has helped him push the boundaries of processing, making his farm one of the uniquest and most innovative in Colombia. His continuous efforts to improve farming practices has helped him turn 90% of his farm organic as a way to preserve soil conditions and protect his crops from plague and devastation.

The resulting cup reminds us of tangerine, raspberry and green apple.

Pour over
Brewed with a V60 - 15g coffee, 250g water. Chewy mouthfeel that really grabs onto your tastebuds. Very fruity. From the tasting notes given, raspberry is what skinned through the most. Green apple follows, then finishes with a lovely telenovela sweetness. A really delicious, balanced cup.

Pour over
Superbe en pour over, sucré et fruité avec juste assez d’acidité. En espresso, peut être très intense mais fait un excellent allongé.
