Norman Cañar Manchabajoy
Nariño is a southwestern department of Colombia bordered by Ecuador and the Pacific Ocean. The volcanic soil from the Andes gives this region a strong agricultural sector. The Andean highlands have ideal coffee growing condition, whereas the Pacific lowlands' main crop is banana.
This coffee is sourced from Norman Cañar Manchbajoy and his El Castillo farm in La Florida, Nariño. At 28 years old, he is one of the youngest farmers in his community. The entirety of his 1-acre land is dedicated to Castillo coffee trees with banana, mandarin and pacay trees for shade. He likes this varietal for its rust resistance and great yield.
The washed process gives green apple, milk chocolate and panela notes to this coffee.
