Kittel Atelier de café
Hambela is a farm in the Guji region of Ethiopia that is owned and operated by METAD Agricultural PLC. The farm was built on land ceded by Emperor Selassie to honor the family matriarch, Muluemebet Emiru, the first African pilot. METAD is now managed by his grandson Aman Adinew. His brother Michael is at the head of their export partner. METAD is involved in several projects, including a women's employment program (representing 70% of 700 METAD seasonal workers), a youth education program, a partnership with Grounds for Health, and as the development of the first SCA certified laboratory in Africa.
As is often the case with coffees from the region, Hambela is very fruity, with notes of red fruit, apricot and peach, and floral notes, reminiscent of the elderflower.
