Butihinda is a washing station part of the Rotheca Women’s Coffees. This project was established in 2019 to combat poverty and support women in coffee producing regions of Burundi. Through the leadership and perseverance of Angèle Ciza, the project has uplifted thousands of farmers and continues to be a source of inspiration, especially for women. Amazingly, 80% of the farms partnered with Rotheca are owned or managed by women.
This coffee not only represents the quality that the country has to offer, but also contributes to help the importer fund scholarships for young girls. As Angèle would say, “if you want to develop Burundi, you develop the women”.
